What is bloedserieus?
Every year, EMSA Antwerp organises the Bloedserieus (Blood Serious) campaign in collaboration with the Red Cross Flanders. During this campaign, we aim to encourage as many students and staff members at the University of Antwerp as possible to donate blood. After all, one bag of blood can literally save lives! So it's not only a wonderful initiative, but also one that you can be truly proud of as a team.
What does the Bloedserieus working group do?
What does a working group member do at Bloedserieus?
As a working group member, you mainly help out during the campaign week itself. You are the enthusiastic face of the campaign: talking to students, showing people the way to the blood collection location and chatting with donors. We often create a pleasant atmosphere with music, snacks or a small gift. You can also help with promotion in advance (putting up posters, sharing social media posts, etc.). It is an accessible way to support a good cause and meet new people at the same time.
What does a working group leader do at Bloedserieus?
As the leader, you are responsible for coordination. You are in contact with the Red Cross Flanders and the university to arrange all the practical matters: where and when the collections will take place, which rooms or halls are available and how we will promote the event. In advance, you take care of the planning for the working group members and the promotional team. During the campaign week itself, you will be the point of contact for both the volunteers and the Red Cross team. You will keep an overview, help out where necessary and ensure that everything runs smoothly.
In short:
As a working group member, you are the driving force on the floor, and as the person in charge, you are the one who puts the puzzle together and ensures that everything runs smoothly. Together, you will make it a warm, successful and vitally important campaign!
