Dr. Bear is a fun initiative where a duo of medical students visit the children's department of a local hospital.

 

The idea is to spend some hours with these young patients while taking care of their teddy bear. Taking an X-ray, fiddling a doctor’s hat, …. are only a few examples. Our intention is to put a smile on the face of every child in this rather somber period.

 

Practically, Dr. bear takes place twice a week: every Friday afternoon at the UZA and every Wednesday afternoon at the Middelheim hospital. A small effort for us, a huge difference in the ‘hospital experience’ for these children.
